SB Chess — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the SB Chess mobile application (package com.sbchess.sb_chess_game, the “App”), published by Praveen Pushkin (Sivasbazar), handles information. SB Chess is a free, offline chess game. We designed it to respect your privacy: it has no accounts, no ads, and no tracking.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. In particular, the App does not ask for or access your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, microphone, camera, precise GPS location, or device identifiers for advertising.

2. Data Stored on Your Device Only

Your saved games, move history, and preferences (board theme, sound, and other settings) are stored locally on your device using the operating system’s standard local storage. This information never leaves your device and is permanently removed when you uninstall the App or clear its data.

3. Limited Network Use (Regional Availability Check)

The game itself is fully playable offline. When the App starts, it performs one lightweight check to confirm the App is permitted in your region:

It requests a country code from a third-party IP-geolocation service (ipwho.is or api.country.is). To return a country, these services process your device’s IP address transiently. We do not receive or store your IP address.
It then reads a public availability list from the developer’s server to check whether SB Chess is restricted in that country.

No personal data is sent, and this check is used solely for regional compliance and app-integrity purposes. If the check cannot be completed (for example, you are offline), the App continues to work normally.

4. No Advertising, Analytics, or Tracking

SB Chess contains no advertisements, no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs, and does not build any profile of you or share data with advertisers.

5. Children’s Privacy

SB Chess is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect any personal information from children or any other users.

6. Third-Party Services

The only external services contacted are those named in Section 3, used exclusively for the regional-availability check. Their handling of the requests they receive is governed by their own privacy policies.

7. Data Security & Retention

Because we do not collect personal data on our servers, there is no personal data for us to retain or that could be exposed by us. On-device data remains under your control.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
